Imagine Living in EuropeIs Italy part of your next chapter?

We’re two American expats and two Umbrian locals helping U.S. couples explore whether living in Italy is truly right for them—and how to do it without losing your mind in the process.
What Is This All About?

“The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page.”

- St. Augustine

Who’s behind Authentic Umbria?Meet the Team

We’re two couples:

Craig & Cindi – Americans who’ve gone through the “Could we really live in Italy?” phase, made the leap, hit a few walls, and built a life between the U.S. and Umbria.

Matteo & Loredana – Umbrians with deep local roots, professional experience, and a love for sharing their region in a real, non-touristy way.

Together, we’re a small, boutique team—no call centers, no big-agency vibe. Just four people who care about helping you make a clear, informed decision about this next chapter.

Start Where You AreWhere are you in your Italy journey?

  • “I’m just exploring the idea.”

Italy sounds amazing… but is it realistic for us? What does it cost, where would we live, and how do people actually do this? See: What is Authentic Umbria?

  • “I want to feel what life there is like.”

You don’t want a whirlwind tour; you want to walk real streets, sit in real cafés, and get a sense of whether Umbria—and nearby towns—feel like “home.” See: Insiders

  • “I’m serious about planning a move.”

You’re looking 6–24 months ahead and want a smart, phased plan: where to start, who you’ll need on your team, and how to avoid the biggest surprises. See: Contact
